THE MASSAGE RETREAT
SPECIALIZING IN PAIN RELIEF

What To Expect

Arrival Times

For your very first visit please arrive about 10 minutes early so that we have enough time to discuss your paperwork and session goals without it cutting into your session time.  For subsequent visits please arrive about 5 minutes early.  Your appointment time is when your session begins which means the time you should be on the table and ready.  In order to be respectful of your therapist's time and all of our other clients we are not able to extend the session end time for late arrivals.  Late arrivals will still be responsible for the cost of the full session.

Cancellations

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change your appointment.  This allows us to contact clients who might be on our waiting list if a time opens up for them.  If you are late or miss your appointment without 24 hours notice we reserve the right to collect the full amount for your missed session as well as require prepayment for future bookings or refuse future appointment requests.

Undress/Draping

Once we have completed the pre-appointment discussion you will be instructed to undress to your comfort level.  What does this mean though?  This means something different to each person, but for most people this either means being completely undressed or leaving just their underwear on (no bra).  Ideally, it is easiest for us to do our job if you to remove as much of your clothing as possible in the area(s) to be worked on so that we can gain proper access to the tissue.  The massage table is covered with a fitted sheet and flat sheet/blanket.  Once you have undressed you will get between the sheets just like you are crawling into bed. You will be "draped" or covered with the sheet/blanket for the entirety of your session except for each area as we work on it, for instance if we are going to work on an arm or a leg we uncover just that portion of you at a time and keep the rest of you covered.
